    El próximo 17 de noviembre brindaré un seminario online gratuito y en español sobre Ciencia Abierta y protocolos FAIR

    En un mundo donde los datos son el nuevo petróleo, saber gestionar, documentar y compartir información científica de forma estructurada no solo es una ventaja competitiva: es prácticamente un requisito de entrada en el ámbito profesional.

    Si trabajas en investigación, gestión de datos o cualquier disciplina cuantitativa, las principales organizaciones de financiamiento y las revistas científicas de impacto ya exigen planes de gestión de datos alineados con FAIR. Los empleadores buscan profesionales que entiendan estas mecánicas y más allá de lo pragmático, implementar Ciencia Abierta y protocolos FAIR es contribuir a un ecosistema científico más inclusivo, transparente y eficiente. Eso tiene valor no solo profesional, sino también ético.

    Whether you’re working with private or public data, here’s the workflow I always recommend:

    ✅ Set up a clean project folder from day one

    ✅ Estimate your file sizes and check storage & compute capacity

    ✅ Retrieve your raw data (private or public sources)

    ✅ Run QC — non-negotiable

    ✅ Launch your NGS pipeline of choice

    💡 Pro tip: always run the full pipeline on a single sample first to benchmark time and resources.

    As a bioinformatician, I’ve seen firsthand how integrating Open Science principles 𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍𝒍𝒚 𝑭𝑨𝑰𝑹 𝒅𝒂𝒕𝒂 𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒆𝒔 can significantly boost quality and productivity in research projects.

    It’s true that at the beginning there is a significant initial investment of time and effort. But when you reach 𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 and resources, energy, and budget become limited—that early investment pays off… exactly the opposite of traditional approaches.
